Thanksgiving break was a lot of fun this year. Since I am going back to school tomorrow I thought I’d take a few moments and reflect on it. I came home Thursday night on the 15th. On the way home I got a speeding ticket–I guess it happens… The following morning I had a dentist appointment at seven, and got to the high school around 8:30 to find out I was teaching a class! That day was teacher inservice, so they did not haves school for the kids. I taught a class on setting up wordpress websites which I thought went very well, despite the fact I was unable to use half of my mouth. For Monday – Wednesday I worked at the school district, and even though it was work it was still good to see everyone again and be productive. For Thanksgiving on Thursday we ate with my moms family in Etna. The food was good and we had a good time. The rest of the week was nice and relaxing with me able to get some time in on my bike (even though I wrecked on Friday). So, back to the books… With only three weeks left in the semester it won’t be long at all till it is once again another semester down.

Moonlight Night Photography
While I was home over the weekend I decided to take advantage of the full moon and take some night shots with the light of the very bright full moon. The shots are of the Salt River bridge in the town of Freedom in Star Valley, Wyoming. I have never done night photography like this before, so it was new and experimental. The shot with some streaks from vehicles was taken the night of the 26th and the other two were taken at 1:30 AM (Saturday morning). I think for being so new at it they actually turned out pretty well. These photos were shot with an Olympus Evolt E-510 Digital SLR.

Snow on the valley floor
Not to say that I am excited for winter or anything–but I am so excited I can hardly stand it! On Saturday night we got a nice snowfall, and I took the opportunity to take some photos of the flood light in our back yard. It was snowing very hard right up to when I was ready to take some photos (go figure). But I was still able to get some pretty neat pictures. I am excited to start riding my sled again and everything that goes along with it. Since it is still only mid-October I doubt that it will stay, but it still gets me excited. Fall Colors
One of the things I love the most about this time of year is the beautiful colors which can be seen through Star Valley. Since I have been at school, I have not had many opportunities to take very many photos. On my way home I was able to snap a few photos while driving around the lake. Hopefully when I am home next I will be able to take some good photos and post them to my pictures website.

Two Random Photos Taken On Campus
For my photography class last week we had to go around campus and take a few random photos so we could go back tot he lab and learn how to develop them. I don’t usually do film photography, but since I was taking some photos on campus I thought turned out pretty well, I decided to later bring my digital camera and take some pictures as well. So the following day I brought my camera and took some random shots.

I’m still here
Sorry that I have not posted anything for a while. The first few weeks of school have been very busy (although I do not believe it is going to slow down any time soon). If you want to view my school schedule, just click the school link at the top of the page. I also plan on updating it and posting some of my accomplishments (or failures) from the semester. This Saturday is the snowmobile grass drags in my home town of Freedom, so that should be fun…

Fall Harvest (Combining)
Well, it has begun again. The fall grain season. Every year at this time we spend countless hours combining (with two John Deere 6602 combines) and working on the machines so we can get the grain in. I will be coming up on weekends while at school to help finish. I do not have classes on Fridays just for that purpose.
Here are two pictures I took tonight while working. They are not the greatest photos in the world since they were shot with my cell phone, but they work…
Another thing of note, the temperature has started to change (the days feel nice and cool now) and the leaves are starting to change color. In a few weeks I will be able to once again start taking beautiful fall pictures of this beautiful area. Hopefully I will be able to take some time off of school so I will be able to enjoy it.

School
School starts on September 12th, so I will be leaving to Rexburg on the 10th. I have had a great summer, accomplished a lot, and had a lot of fun. Not sure how excited I am to be going back to school again, but hopefully it will be a good semester.

Photos of Periodic Spring
Last Friday (the 24th) I had the privilege of hiking up to the Periodic Spring, located up Swift Creek behind Afton, WY. While being at the spring I was able to take some beautiful pictures, which I will post shortly on my photography page.
